Several FCSA member schools were included in the US Department of Education’s Office of Elementary and School Education’s Back to School Success Stories blog. The stories, told from a teacher’s perspective, highlight the amazing work charter school teachers and leaders are doing during these unprecedented times.

“My goal this year is to put in each student’s mind the idea that science education occurs not only one way. Education can take place from me to them, from them to me, between their peers, and through self-paced activities. I want to embrace their curiosity, so they can own their knowledge and rediscover the scientists in themselves,” explains Mrs. Oasio.

“As a 3rd-grade math and science teacher I have to be creative with my classes, in-person and virtual,” says Ms. Hammonds.
