This spring break, 30 middle school students from International Studies Charter Middle High School in Miami visited Washington D.C. as part of the Close Up program. Before they even saw any of the famous monuments, memorials, or museums, the student got to chat with a member of Congress.
Congresswoman Ileana Ros- Lehtinen was on the students’ flight to D.C. “She was kind enough to take a picture with our students and teacher once they got off the plane and said she wanted to visit our school,” said Victor Rodriguez, Principal. “What a great way to kick off a trip of a lifetime.”
International Studies Charter Middle High School is a high-performing public charter school located in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood and ranked among the top-performing schools in the state. Both U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek Magazine has ranked the school among the top high schools in America.
