Press releases

April 17, 2024 — Washington, D.C. — Ralph Arza, FCSA’s Director of Governmental Affairs, met with Senator Marco Rubio. The two discussed relevant topics related to charter schools nationwide, with a particular focus on Florida. The discussion also focused on the Charter School Program (CSP), the nation’s only source of dedicated federal funding to support the creation, expansion, and replication of public charter schools.

Mr. Arza also presented Charter School Champion award from the National Charter School Alliance to the Senator.  A lifelong leader on behalf of charter schools and students seeking access to high quality public schools, the award recognizes Senator Rubio’s efforts to protect parents’ rights to choose their child’s school and expand quality educational options for all parents across our great nation.

“School choice is in a better position than ever before, but there is still work to be done to ensure that parents in Florida and beyond have access to high-quality educational options for their students,” said Arza. “The FCSA is commited to advocating for charter schools and even greater educaitonal choice opportunities for all families.”
