On October 8, 2019, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe A. Martinez recognized AcadeMir Charter School West’s commitment to education and service

to the community by dedicating the portion of SW 149th Avenue at its intersection with SW 26th Street (Coral Way) as “AcadeMir Way.” Students, parents, and faculty joined in the day’s celebration – unveiling the street sign and dedicating the school’s new pavilion. “I am honored to recognize AcadeMir Charter School West for their commitment and dedication to provide their students with the necessary tools for a promising and brighter future,” said Commissioner Martinez.

Lead by Principal Olivia Bernal, AcadeMir Charter School West is an A+ rated school that services students in Kindergarten through 5th grade – offering a rigorous academic program with emphasis on the STEM fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics using research-based instructional methods. A National Blue Ribbon School, Academy Charter School West also offers a character development program, which provides students with a positive school culture with the goal of creating a school social culture that encourages positive behaviors and interactions. Managed by Superior Charter School Services, there are four AcadeMir campuses in South Florida.
