Bell Creek Team Excels at Moot Court Competition

Hillsborough County, FL — The Bell Creek Moot Court Team — 11th grader Adit Prabhu and 10th grader Colin Doyle — competed on April 15, 2019 at Stetson Law School against all other schools from the 2nd District Court of Appeals. Their briefs were the only team ones selected for oral arguments for both the Petitioner and Respondent side of the case.

Doyle and Prabhu prepared written legal briefs that set forth their arguments as to why the lower court’s decision should be upheld or overturned. From all of the briefs that are chosen the judges choose the best briefs to come before the Court for oral arguments where the students appear before actual judges from the 2nd District Court of Appeals to argue their case.

The students rose to the challenge and argued one side of the case in the morning, and then the other side in the afternoon the day of the competition. The results of the competition will be released soon announcing whether the Bell Creek team advances to argue their case before the Florida Supreme Court.
