December 16, 2019 — Sofia Urruela, a 4th-grade student at Bridgeprep Academy of Village Green in Miami Dade, has won the 2019 Florida Charter School Alliance Holiday Card Design Contest.
Sofia’s artwork — a reindeer with a glowing scarlet nose — beat out dozens of submissions from around the state and was used to create the official FCSA holiday greeting card sent to member schools and stakeholders. Sofia — surrounded by family, teachers, and classmates — was presented with a gift card and poster-size version of the FCSA holiday card. We want to thank Sofia’s amazing art teacher, Ms. Artamendi, for submitting the artwork and inspiring students to draw, paint and create. (Pictured: Sofia and her parents)
Cortney Florial from Passport Charter in Orlando came second place with her “Merry Everything and Happy Always” design. The FCSA Holiday Greeting Card Design Contest was open to K-12 students attending an FCSA member school.
