PARKLAND, FL- Somerset Parkland Academy continues to thrive in Parkland as the school navigates both the challenges and opportunities of continued growth. The 2023-24 School Year will mark the fourth year of middle school for Somerset Parkland Academy, which held its first 8th grade graduation in early June.
“It’s been so fulfilling to watch these students grow and develop since the doors first opened,” said Somerset Parkland Academy Interim Principal Meg Campbell. “Now that we’ve had our first middle school graduation, we are excited for the next 8th grade class to begin!”
The school opened as a Kindergarten through 6th grade campus during the pandemic year of 2020. Due to Somerset’s strong academic reputation, leadership, and presence in the growing Parkland community, it has increased enrollment each year. The school held The Founder’s Brick Ceremony in late May to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of all who contributed to getting Somerset Parkland Academy off the ground and onto its current path of growth and success.
Academically, Somerset Parkland Academy has also performed remarkably well on year-end F.A.S.T. testing. As the school offered new high school classes this past year for Geometry and Biology, the students achieved a 100% past rate in both subjects.
“We are projected to have a school grade of an ‘A.'” said Campbell, “and we are planning for continued success in the new school year.”
The school also continues to develop its campus on the corner of University Drive and Hillsboro Blvd. in Parkland, having recently added an outdoor basketball court. The school hopes to continue to grow and meet the needs of the Parkland community.
We are tremendously proud of our students and staff here at Somerset Parkland Academy,” summarized Campbell. “We’ve come a long way in just a few short years, and we can’t wait for the 2023-24 year to begin!”
