Florida Lawmakers Finalize Budget FY 25-26

Press releases

June 14, 2025 – Tallahassee, FL – Florida lawmakers have finalized a $115 billion budget for FY 2025-26 along with a $1.29 billion tax relief package — $3 billion less than the current year’s spending. The budget agreement prioritizes education funding, including a raise for teachers, while maintaining substantial reserves.

The conference report on SB 2500 was distributed at 10:04 PM, triggering the constitutionally required 72-hour cooling-off period before a final vote. The Florida House and Senate will reconvene on Monday, June 16, 2025, to formally adopt the budget and related bills. The Governor is expected to receive the budget soon after that and may exercise line-item veto authority. Final approval is anticipated before the July 1 start of the fiscal year.
